Affiliate Marketing Secrets - How to Do the Forum Marketing the Smart and Ethical Way

By Fabian Tan

Drawing traffic to your website is the name of the game. There are many, many ways to do it. How you drum up your traffic usually depends on how much time and or money you have to spend. If you are like most people, the minimum amount of money spent is best. One of the best promote your site is through forums. However, to get the most from this it is important that you don't offend any one and that is done with good forum etiquette.

This is not exactly an affiliate marketing secret but it could be discussed more. Most forums have moderators. Most moderators have certain guidelines that a post must follow. You need to know the general rules about this to avoid being banned from a forum.

Post comments only on appropriate forums and in the course of appropriate threads. It is disrespectful to the loyal forum members and comes across as a blatant marketing ploy, which it is. This will not only get you banned from the forum but it could also damage the reputation of your site and affiliate programs.

If there is no moderator and the forum has a tendency to get a little wild, avoid confrontations and arguments in your posts. This also can be very damaging to the reputation of the site and the affiliate program. It is no secret that if people don't respect your campaign efforts they will visit your site.

Just like in all aspects of life, there is a protocol to follow. Play by the rules and all will go smoothly. Have good forum etiquette and your efforts will be rewarded.
